New Plugin

I’ve installed an optional plugin you can activate to have a Better Feed. What this one does is append a paragraph to your RSS feed posts with a copyright notice, any category(ies) the post is in, and a comment count.

Go to Plugins, find where it says “Better Feed” in the list and click the “activate” button. Nothing will happen, but the next time you update your site, your RSS feed will have this included. The only potentially annoying thing it does is update your feed whenever someone adds a comment, but I personally find it handy. (I use it on my own blog.)

This does not affect the actual posts displayed on your blog. It also doesn’t affect the Master Site Feed of all blogs. And if you or your readers don’t like it, you can deactivate it. :)

EDIT: I’ve added a line to the Better Feed plugin that dsplays “If you are reading this without a feed reader, then the above content has been reposted from the originating website without the author’s permission or knowledge.” :D

Still working on a couple of issues behind the scenes, like the Flickr RSS widget not updating. Not getting any answers though. *sighs*

Upload space limit and new themes to play with

If you noticed in the last day or two, there’s a new line in the file upload area. It tells you how much space you have left.

Also, I just added a few super-duper themes that haven’t been fully tested. Soem of them - like Freshy, Water and Sandbox are highly customizable. In other words, if you know enough HTML and CSS to get yourself in trouble, you should be able to make your blog look really slick and not like someone else’s. In some (I think) you can change the header and background graphic, so feel free to borrow graphics form other themes here on this site.

New themes:
Dipdot - 5 color options
Freshy - tons of options, including custom
K2 - even more options
Sandbox - has extra skins with more coming. Very minimal.
Tuned - 3 colums minimal
Water - loads of options here too.

If you wind up with a really customized theme, let me know so I can come see.
