Little fixes and big things a comin’
I really fixed the picture uploading thing this time. It was a permissions issue on the folder on the server, and I thought it trickled down to the subfolders, but it didn’t. Does now though.
Also I fixed it so you can upload profile pictures/avatars again. Same problem there.
The support forum is still down. Thankfully, it’s not used much.
While I was offline, I cleaned up my inbox and was dismayed to discover I completely forgot about various theme requests. So my next big thing is working on THEMES. (pauses for cheers from the crowd) The biggest part to that would be implementing the ability to change the headers on many themes.
One that is ready right now is Benevolence. Feel free to try it out. I also added a three-column version of the Water theme. So if you use that theme and wanted another sidebar, you got it. That one also has the Categories drop-down menu fixed. (I haven’t had a chance to fix it on the other one yet.) Ron wrote me a little do-hicky so I can tell what themes are the most popular, so I’m going down the list by popularity.
The other thing I am actively working on is Sitewide TAGS. It uses everyone’s categories as tags and builds a tag cloud accordingly. All I have to do is tweak a couple things and add a link to it here on the main page. You can see it in action here.
Note: if you’ve chosen the privacy option to not have your blog picked up by search engines, technorati, or other site listings, then your site won’t show up in the Sitewide Tags either. (at least I don’t think it does.) If you haven’t noticed, you can check out your privacy option by going in to the Options menu and clicking on the Privacy submenu.
If there are any other bells n’ whistles you’d like to see, or anything I seem to have forgotten, feel free to mention it loudly and often, as I am feeling like I owe you guys a lot of goodies lately, just to make it up to you.
Even if you’re not sure what you want is available or possible, it doesn’t hurt to mention it and see.
Also, the deadline is fast approaching for the Homeschool Country Fair carnival. The topic is “diversity”, and BOY do we have a diverse crowd here! So submit your posts already if you haven’t, and drop by the blog on Monday to see it. Save some cotton candy for me, will ya?
