free homeschooling journals

Homeschool Journal Dot Net

About Us

Hi there!

We are Andrea and Ron, the homeschooling parents who run this site. We’ve been homeschooling since early 1994 and have four children. Ron is a computer programmer by profession who grew up on a homestead farm. Andrea grew up in the city in a nuclear family. We have both run our own businesses, built a house together, and debugged many a website. We’re on the crunchy side of mainstream. Ron wrote an excellent introduction here.

I should probably mention we are Canadian. That should explain our spelling and our sense of humour.

Since we have both been keeping various kinds of websites to document our homeschooling experience, we thought it would be a great idea to offer other homeschooling parents the opportunity to do the same.

We are offering a free homeschooling journal for any homeschooling parent or child to document whatever they like about their experiences. No catches, no strings attached.

Have a question? Read the FAQ.

Please note: we are not associated with homeschooljournal.com, although we are sure they are fine people.

  1. Hello,
You are receiving this because you run the site Homeschool Journal Dot Net. I am conducting a
survey of every person who runs WordPress Multi-User (WPMU) site. I
    would
appreciate your participation in this survey. The survey will be
    web-based,
using PsychData (http://psychdata.com/). I anticipate that it will take
    about 15 minutes to complete.
I am myself a blogger, with blogs using WordPress, WPMU, and other
    tools.
Of my WPMU blogs, the one you are most likely to have heard of is “How
    Do
You MU?” (andwat.edublogs.org). In the sidebar of that blog, I list all
    the
WPMU sites of which I know, including yours. The survey arises, not only
from my personal interest in blogging, but also from my job as a teacher
and researcher at Northeastern University in Boston, USA.
(http://web.cba.neu.edu/~awatson/ is my work homepage.) I am not a
developer of WordPress or of WPMU, but I have received encouragement for
this survey from a WPMU developer.
I would be grateful if you would respond to this message by email to me
    at:
a.watson@neu.edu. If you do participate, you will get an email later
    this
month providing the URL at which you can complete the survey. I will
    keep
the information you provide strictly confidential. On the other hand, I
will make statistics publicly available. For example, one of the
    questions
asks about reasons for selecting WPMU. I will publish on the web the
    number
of times each reason was specified by a respondent, but I will not
    publish
the fact that you specified particular reasons.
If you are unable to participate in this survey, I would still be
    grateful
for a response telling me that you will not be participating. If you
    have
questions about the survey, please email them to me, or phone me at: 1
    617
    373 2516.
Regardless of your response to this message, I wish you all the best
    with
your WPMU site and with everything else in your life.
    Andrew Watson
