Reading / Handwriting: (60 minutes)

K: Practiced writing the upper & lower case “k”

- Wrote out alphabet page upper & lower case

- Wrote out page of words that began with k

- Read “My I Book” to me

P: Practiced writing the upper & lower case “k”

- Wrote out alphabet page upper & lower case

- Wrote out page of words that began with k

- Read “My K Book” to me

Both: Read aloud to them My “K” Book

– colored in “K” cards

 

Math: (60 minutes)

K: Basic addition worksheet with skittles (7 questions)

- Lined up 5 stuffed animals from smallest to biggest

- Dice game: about 2 dozen rolls

- Worksheet:  wrote the number that came after 18q  (mastered)

- Worksheet: found the smallest and largest number of a set 13q  (mastered)

P: Basic addition worksheet with skittles (5 questions)

- Lined up 5 stuffed animals from smallest to biggest

- Dice game: about 2 dozen rolls

- Calendar: filled out October calendar and draw a picture.

- Practiced counting from 1-100 by tens

- Practiced counting from 1-100 by fives

 

Life Skills: (10 minutes)

K & P: made hot chocolate in a mug

- put letter into envelope and sealed envelope

 

Nature

- Went outside after the rain and splashed in puddles

 

Language Arts – Sight Words (10 minutes)

K & P: Went through entire sight word flash cards

K: Used about half the sight words in a sentence after reading it

 

Geography: (60 minutes)

Both:

-          Located all 50 states of the US on a map

-          Gave overview of Australia; went over the names of the 7 provinces

-          Colored in picture of Australia and traced the letters of its name

-          Read Koala Lou.  (Scared P because of the koala’s claws)

-          Colored in picture of a koala bear

-          Watched youtube video about Australia.

 

Language Arts – Literature

Both: Read them the following books:

-        The Wiggles Safari x4

-        This is My Kitten

-        Koala Lou (discussed what happened in the story)

 

Language Arts – Vocabulary

Both: Discussed the word “compliment” and what it meant.  We practiced by giving compliments to each other.

 

Everyday Writing

- wrote birthday card to family member.
